Linocut with Chine Colle 3hr tutored class

Come and discover the joy of linocut relief printing in a beautiful studio in Lewes. This 3hr class is suitable for complete beginners and those with some experience. You will have the option to carve your design into either softcut lino or Japanese vinyl (A6 or A5 size) and print your block using a book press. You can develop your work using Chine colle (collage) to add depth and colour.
Group sizes are small so that you get as much (or little) support as you need, and all materials are provided.
All materials will be provided, including all paper, non-toxic AKUA soy based printmaking inks, lino, chine colle materials, book press, gloves, specialist tools, and tea/coffee/biscuits.
Visual resources are provided for every class including printmaking examples, reference images, and some of my favourite books, although there is no ‘theme’ as such so you are welcome to explore whatever subject you choose.
You are welcome to bring materials to enrich and personalise your work: this might include books/magazines, photographs, sketches, or other images you like.
I recommend that you bring an apron or old shirt to protect your clothes.
The studio is located at the top of the stairs on the right - there is a stair lift available if required. If you have any accessibility requests please let me know in advance. The studio is well ventilated before and after every session and there will be disposable gloves and hand sanitisier. There are 5 car parking spaces outside the studio that are free and for everyone’s use, on a first come first served basis. Please note however that the access road is narrow and one way, so if you have a large vehicle you may find it easier to find alternative parking. There is on street parking nearby, or Westgate car park. The train station is 15 minutes walk away, and the nearest bus stop is 5 minutes away on Lewes high street.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
If you are unable to attend an individual class due to illness or any unforeseen circumstances then please let me know via email as soon as possible. If viable, I will offer you an alternative date for the same or a similar class later in the year. In the unlikely event that I have to cancel, you will receive a full refund.
