MAILING LIST

I am a professional artist and fully qualified teacher with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art and a Masters level 7 PGCE specialising in Post-Compulsory Art & Design teaching. I have over 18 years experience working in education, initially as a technician and then a teacher in both Further and Higher Education, and I now run workshops throughout the year as an independent tutor and artist. I have taught at West Dean College, Hove Museum, the Towner Gallery, and other venues across Sussex. My classes are suitable for both beginners and those wishing to revisit and develop their printmaking skills. I keep group sizes small to allow everyone space to work in a relaxed, friendly, environment and I am on hand to offer practical advice and encourage an experimental approach to printmaking, alongside tips for continuing your work at home.

Visual resources are provided for every session including printmaking examples, contextual references and some of my favourite books, and equally you are welcome to bring materials to enrich and personalise your work. This might include books, magazines, photographs, sketches, or any other images you like. As a professional artist and printmaker, I recognise the importance of good quality sustainable materials that produce successful results and all paper, inks, plates, and specialist tools will be provided. I am committed to delivering workshops using non-toxic high quality materials that do not require any harsh solvents, and are therefore better for our planet and for us. This includes using excellent AKUA soy based printmaking inks, which have strong light-fast pigments and no toxic chemicals, and can be cleaned up easily without polluting the water. I also provide biodegradable sundries (gloves, cloths etc.) and recycle whenever possible.

As well as tutored courses, I also offer untutored sessions at the Paddock Studio in Lewes, which are suitable for more experienced printmakers who wish to work on an independent project. Scroll down for a link to the booking form.

I also offer tailored group workshops with a 20% discount for group bookings of 6 or more people (max.10), perfect for groups of friends, artists, or co-workers who want to try something new together. I am always happy to discuss your requirements and tiered pricing options so get in touch via my contact page for a no obligation chat.

If you can’t see what you are looking for, or can’t make a particular date, send me a message and let me know your preferences as I am continually planning new workshops. I can also add you to my mailing list to keep you up to date with future classes.
